Dhrak
King of Crowleun
Dhrak is the King of the Crowleun race, originating from DuskFell. He rules the kingdom alongside Queen Crowee. Among the Crowleun, Dhrak is notable for his unusually large and dense wings, which far exceed the average size of his kind.
[Background Story]
Before Dhrak’s ascension, the Crowleun Kingdom of DuskFell was ruled by King Varkon. During Varkon’s reign, Dhrak served as a senior commander, leading elite forces on behalf of the crown. His loyalty and effectiveness earned him the title “Varkon’s Blade.”
Varkon believed that absolute military strength was the only path to survival. Under his command, Crowleun witches, including Crowee, used magic to physically enhance the kingdom’s soldiers. The process greatly increased their combat abilities but carried a catastrophic consequence. The enhanced soldiers gradually lost their reproductive capability, pushing the Crowleun race toward extinction.
Varkon’s obsession with military power also led him to neglect the land itself. Areas outside the capital were left unmanaged and eventually became barren wastelands. Over time, DuskFell was reduced to a fortified core surrounded by ruin.
Unable to accept the destruction of his people’s future, Dhrak organized a coup and overthrew Varkon. He claimed the throne and assumed direct control of the kingdom. From that point forward, Dhrak wielded Varkon’s broken greatsword as his primary weapon.
Despite the change in leadership, the damage inflicted during Varkon’s rule was severe. Dhrak inherited a kingdom on the brink of collapse and was forced to rule with survival as his foremost priority.
[Relationship with Crowee]
Dhrak and Crowee were already close during Varkon’s reign. At the time, relationships between Crowleun warriors and witches were strictly forbidden, yet the two maintained a secret relationship.
After Varkon’s fall and Dhrak’s rise to power, Crowee was formally revealed as Dhrak’s partner and was crowned Queen of the Crowleun Kingdom.
Dhrak was aware that Crowee possessed the ability to travel between worlds. Recognizing that DuskFell could no longer sustain the Crowleun race, he began searching for a new world suitable for relocation.
Crowee eventually identified Earth as a viable environment.
Dhrak’s initial strategy was to occupy Earth by force. He ordered Crowee to open large-scale portals that would allow the Crowleun army to invade. However, Crowee’s ability only allowed her own body to cross dimensions, preventing the direct transportation of others.
To overcome this limitation, Crowee searched Earth for powerful concentrations of magical energy. This search led her to Vorthalas, an artifact in the possession of Carissa. After seizing Vorthalas, Crowee used it to open massive portals, enabling a large-scale invasion. Dhrak observed the invasion from the sky as his forces advanced.
Earth’s defensive response proved far stronger than anticipated, and as Crowleun forces suffered heavy losses, Dhrak ordered a full retreat.
During the withdrawal, several human children were taken and transported to DuskFell. This was not a spontaneous act, but a secondary contingency planned in advance. If Earth could not be occupied, humans would be brought back to serve as a means of restoring the Crowleun population.
Physically, the differences between humans and Crowleun were minimal. Aside from white-gray skin and wings, their biological structures were nearly identical. This genetic similarity made humans viable candidates for adaptation and integration into Crowleun society.
Children were specifically targeted for this purpose. Adults resisted more strongly and were far more difficult to transport, while children were lighter, easier to relocate, and more adaptable to an unfamiliar world. Their identities had not yet fully solidified, allowing them to be raised within Crowleun culture until they reached reproductive age.
After the abduction of the children had been carried out successfully, a massive and unidentified portal opened one day at the entrance of the Crowleun Kingdom. The portal was opened by the Dread Circle.
The Dread Circle’s sudden intrusion led to a clash at the kingdom’s entrance. As a result of their intervention, most of the abducted children managed to escape and return to Earth. A small number of children, however, remained trapped within the Crowleun Kingdom.
To prevent the Dread Circle from appearing again and taking the remaining children, Dhrak hired his friend and assassin-for-hire, Rohven, who was capable of traveling to Earth, and commissioned him to eliminate the members of the Dread Circle.
[Ability]
Super Strength
Dhrak’s body was enhanced through Crowleun witchcraft, granting him immense physical power. His sword strikes are capable of destroying terrain on impact.
Advanced Aerial Maneuvering
Dhrak was born with wings far larger and more feathered than those of an average Crowleun. Combined with magical reinforcement, his wings allow him to perform high-speed aerial maneuvers and gliding runs that can briefly match the speed of aircraft.
Reinforced Wings
Crowleun feathers shed easily but possess exceptional durability. Dhrak’s wings can withstand most projectiles and gunfire, allowing them to be used defensively. In close combat, their sharpened edges can also function as weapons.
Varkon’s Greatsword
This massive sword was once wielded by King Varkon. After Varkon’s downfall, Dhrak claimed it as his own. Although the blade is broken, its shape suits Dhrak’s physique and fighting style, and it remains his primary weapon.
