Black Skull (Batman4014's Batworld Original Series)

Blackskull

History

Blackskull is a secretive and technologically advanced faction with a long and shadowy history. The group is currently led by the enigmatic figure known as the Supreme Leader, whose body has been almost entirely replaced by machinery, leaving only the brain intact. This transformation has made the Supreme Leader a living symbol of the organization’s doctrine of mechanical supremacy.

Blackskull’s origins trace back to the age of blades and shields, when it first emerged as a ruthless band of mercenaries. Over time, the group became closely associated with the Towred Empire, operating for decades as an unofficial arm of imperial power. During this period, Blackskull increasingly took on tasks the empire could not publicly acknowledge, including targeted killings, clandestine missions, and other covert operations.

Although Blackskull operated in close coordination with Towred for many years, their methods became increasingly brutal and ethically indefensible. Following the great war between Wiglington, Cheonggyeong, and Towred, the Towred government ultimately expelled the faction from its territory.

Rather than resist, Blackskull accepted exile. Using the wealth and assets accumulated under Towred’s patronage, the organization restructured itself as an independent power. Freed from oversight, it expanded rapidly, embracing futuristic technologies and developing a philosophy of accelerated evolutionism and techno-supremacy.

In the modern era, Blackskull operates as a powerful and clandestine syndicate. The group is notorious for disregarding ethical boundaries in pursuit of technological advancement. Today, roughly half of its members have replaced their bodies with robotics or cybernetic augmentations, while their enforcers — including assassin troopers who serve as bodyguards for high-ranking figures — are almost entirely robotic.

Blackskull’s strength is further reinforced by its ability to attract world-class scientists, many of whom were personally recruited by the Supreme Leader. Promised unlimited resources and freedom from ethical restrictions, these scientists have developed weapons and equipment far beyond contemporary standards.

The majority of Blackskull operates out of massive subterranean bases, hidden deep underground and completely unknown to the general public.

Ghosts of Four

Within Blackskull, there exists a specialized elite unit known as the Ghosts of Four. Regarded as the Supreme Leader’s most valued asset, this group is equipped with state-of-the-art, future-grade technology that pushes the limits of modern warfare. Under the command of General Felix, the Ghosts are deployed on missions where failure is not an option, often tasked with eliminating political leaders or influential individuals seen as obstacles to Blackskull’s ambitions.
